SAICA CA2025 Training Plan No Methodology

Overview of the programme

The SAICA Training Plan is the roadmap setting out a trainee's journey. A training plan encourages a training officer to think ahead about the type of technical work exposure the trainee will get and the day-to-day tasks the trainee will be challenged by in order to make them as well-rounded a professional accountant as possible. The technical work exposure serves as an opportunity for the trainee to demonstrate the required professional competencies (or learning outcomes), also known as Professional Values, Attitudes and Acumens or PVAAs. The technical tasks serve as a springboard for not only demonstrating proficiency in the professional competencies but also developing them.

SAICA training plans consist of two parts: Integrated Exposure Plan (IEP) and Expected Levels of Proficiency ( ELP). The IEP sets out the pre-selected technical learning outcomes that the trainee is set to be able to exposed to, whereas the ELP maps out which of the required PVAA competencies the trainee needs to demonstrate, at what point in time, and up to what overall rating level.his excel-based training plan product sets out a trainee's course in an Audit and Assurance environment over a 3-year training contract period, which can be tailored for either a four or 5-year training contract period. This training plan is suitable for Audit and Assurance training offices not using any specific audit methodology software.
