 Lunch 'n Learn overview

People often know what they would like to change.

They may want to communicate differently, develop a healthier habit, strengthen a skill or approach their work with greater confidence and consistency. Yet knowing what needs to change does not automatically make the change easy.

The Three Attitudes is a reflective and practical Lunch ’n Learn designed to help participants understand the inner approach required to develop new behaviour and sustain personal growth.

The session explores how automatic habits are formed, why change often feels uncomfortable and how the attitudes we bring to the growth process can either support progress or cause us to give up too soon.

Rather than relying on temporary motivation, participants are encouraged to approach development with greater intention, patience and practical commitment.

Session Objective

The objective of this Lunch ’n Learn is to help participants recognise how attitude influences behaviour change and identify a practical way to strengthen their own growth process.

Participants will be encouraged to:

  • recognise automatic behaviours that may be shaping their results
  • identify a behaviour they would like to develop or change
  • understand that growth requires more than good intentions
  • appreciate the role of determination, persistence and patience
  • recognise that new behaviour develops through a process
  • connect growth habits with meaningful goals
  • identify the support required to sustain progress
  • evaluate whether current activities are contributing to development, and
  • choose one practical behaviour to begin strengthening.

Session Outline

The Attitude behind the Action

Participants explore how attitude influences:

  • willingness to begin
  • response to difficulty
  • consistency
  • interpretation of setbacks, and
  • the ability to remain committed when progress feels slow.

Recognising Automatic Behaviour

The session invites participants to notice behaviours that have become habitual.

Awareness creates the opportunity to choose a different response.

Expanding Your Behavioural Repertoire

Participants consider what new behaviour could help them become more effective.

The focus is on adding a useful behaviour rather than judging oneself for not already having mastered it.

Growth Requires Determination

Participants reflect on the decision to pursue change even when the process is inconvenient or uncomfortable.

Determination helps people move from vague desire towards intentional commitment.

Growth Requires Persistence

The session explores why repetition is essential when developing a new behaviour.

Growth Requires Patience

Participants are reminded that meaningful behaviour change rarely happens instantly.

Understanding the Change Process

The session introduces the idea that new behaviour develops in phases.

The detailed phases and exercises remain part of the facilitated learning experience.

Connecting Behaviour to a Meaningful Goal

Participants reflect on why the desired behaviour matters.

A meaningful reason strengthens commitment.

Creating Everyday Opportunities to Grow

Participants consider practical ways to practise growth within daily life rather than waiting for ideal circumstances.

The Lunch ’n Learn Experience

This concise and reflective session may include:

  • facilitated personal-development insights
  • guided self-reflection
  • practical behaviour-change questions
  • relatable workplace examples
  • audience participation
  • goal and habit exploration, and
  • a focused personal-development commitment.

Who Should Attend?

This session is suitable for:

  • employees at all organisational levels
  • emerging and experienced leaders
  • professionals developing new workplace skills
  • teams navigating change
  • individuals struggling to sustain new habits
  • people who frequently begin goals but lose momentum
  • professionals seeking greater self-awareness and consistency, and
  • anyone interested in intentional personal growth.

New Behaviour Begins before It Feels Natural

Change does not become sustainable because we attempt it once.

It grows through the attitudes we bring to repeated practice—especially when progress is slower or less comfortable than expected.

Choose the behaviour. Practise with purpose. Persist with patience. Grow intentionally.
